HOORAY FOR 'SNOW DAYS'!

Hooray for the snow! Yesterday and today have been declared 'snow days', so there's been no school. I've stayed inside and pottered about getting housey jobs done and admiring the prettty outside scenes from the inside. I've fed my obsessions for knitting and blogging and spent hours messing around on-line; dropping in on blogger 'friends' and playing about with photos etc. Oh how easy it is to spend lots of time not really doing very much. It's so easy! I took all of these photos this morning, during which time we had another fairly heavy snow shower, just to keep the 'white stuff' levels topped up nicely. I've watched the birds too. Quite a few of our regulars were there feeding. Our robin friend made frequent visits to the sunflower seeds and almost dive-bombed the large fat ball that we have hanging from an old linen line post. The magpie who lives close by and makes the most awful racket from our rooftop all through the summer months was there too, alongside a steady stream of tits and finches. It's not often I have the time to sit and watch.....so thank you 'snow day'. Hopefully my December socks will be all done too. I'm now past the heel on sock number 2, so I should be able to show the full twelve months worth on Sundy evening along with some of my plans and ideas for 2010!

So all in all I've had a thoroughly relaxed, peaceful, cosy and hermit-like two days. It's been blissful. Thank you 'snow day' maker, whoever you are. I love you!

Hmmmmmmmmm, not sure I'm speaking to you, after you had two snow days and I had none!!! Great snowy pics. Looking forward to hearing about your new project plans! Do any of them involve buttons?! (Just had a peek at your latest Flickr photos! LOL) Have a good weekend.

Beautiful photos.
For us here in Canada snow is so much a part of Winter that sometimes we take it and its beauty for granted.
The socks look so cozy and warm and judging by the weather finished not a moment too soon.

So an extra long weekend for you, sounds like you are putting it to good use. Forecast isn't too good for next week so I hope you have plenty of bird food and yarn. Keep warm.

So Beautiful! especially the lovely birds in the branches.
I have always envied those that make socks, but particularly and more than ever now that my poor toes are so cold. I must watch Your blog closely and learn how it's done.

Hope You are having a snug, warm and smiley Sunday :o)
