THE YEAR OF THE SWEATER?

I don't know whether any of you remember this project. Well it would have been  a year ago now and sadly, this gorgeous aran sweater has remained in its own little dark hidey hole inside a large cotton bag. I don't know why. I can't explain. I lusted after the yarn for months and love the pattern.

The trouble is that there are just too few hours in a day. My knitting head imagines the items finished in a flash. In reality , this is not the case. My fingers cannot possible work at the required speed of light. It is just not humanly possible. So why can't my brain say STOP! Don't start another!

AAARRRGGGHHH!  I did! I started a second 'Henley with a Twist' by Anne Hanson. Why? Because I loved the first one I made so, so much. To be fair, it gets so much wear that a second one would come in very handy. The trouble is, where are those 100 hours in a day? Here's the first one.......

You can see why I wanted a second bite can't you. The pattern is fabulous and so is the scrummy Woolen Rabbit yarn.

I have also managed to complete this fabulous piece for yht younger Miss Snoops. She wears it a lot  and it is wearing very well. The impetus to complete was knowing that she was eagerly waiting for it.

Perhaps this should become the year of the sweater, rather than the year of the dragon!!!

Oh I know exactly what you mean. I too have great plans for things I want to knit, and there just isn't enough time!!! Roll on retirement! Hahaha! Have a good week! xx

Hi Ros! I love your favourite sweater and can understand why you like to make an other one! I would like, too, but no time for knitting. If find a way to add hours to your day, please tell me!
Have a lovely, hopefully not too busy, wee!

I agree with you entirely! There are never enough knitting hours in the day!

But, oh my goodness, yours have been used wisely! Miss Snoops cardigan is amazing! And the cable jumper and Hendley with are twist are lovely. I just love cables, they're my favourite knitting technic. Good luck with them!

I think we get spoilt by the instant gratification of socks, just a few nights and the first one is done, the second follows quickly, job done. Even so you've made some fabulous cabley sweaters and I'm sure the current one will be finished before too long. I too love the pattern and can't wait to see it, is that enough pressure for you. Have a great week.

You may think you are not fast but you produce so many lovely things! I am always in awe of your knitting skills. I know what you mean about starting new things though-very easy to do and then they get left in their bags for ages. Ah well, such is life! I meant to say-we walked past the school you mentioned last week and it really reminded me of my old school-Maidstone Grammar School for Girls. I liked the old school building too.

I would definitely support the year of the sweater! Both of those sweaters are magnificent. My inability to manufacture more hours has been the impetus for picking a very simple stockinette sweater. I wanted a sweater, but considering the last sweater I started has entered year two... I'd love to see either of those sweaters materialize for you!

Your knitting is so gorgeous. I love the cabled jacket for Miss Snoops!
Quick question that probably has a long answer, how do you get the Ravelry progress thing that is in your side bar if you don't mind my asking?
