WEDDING BELLS.......

Well, here it is at last...... the Easter holidays, the first day of April, the week of the wedding and 'All in the April Evening' is blocked and ready to go! I really, really like it! The pattern has opened up beautifully and the yarn is still soft and very drapey. It's perfect for purpose and modelled here by our younger daughter and chief bridesmaid!

I  have been knitting my little socks off to get the stole finished in time and now feel the need for some easier needle work, so I've cast on a little jumper for Sophie. This will bethe  perfect travelling project for our journey up to Manchester on Tuesday morning.

This Wendy yarn is bamboo and just right for lighter weight knitwear for little ones. It's such a pretty colour. I've sorted out buttons too, although I'm not sure whether I will need the larger or smaller version. I'll pack  both!

It's a very simple pattern, with a rolled edge and button openings on both shoulders. I'll be able to knit and look out of the car window at the same time.

I've also made a start on the 'Almost Ovals' scarf. The Sweet Georgia cashmere and silk is gorgeous to work with and such a pretty colour.

This another project packed and ready to go 'up North'.

I can't travel without taking at least one pair of socks with me, so it's the lucky Roger socks who have won the coveted sock place in the knitting bag. I managed a pattern repeat on them last night, to get me back into sock mode.

I think I will have enough to keep me going for the few pre-wedding days in Manchester, the wedding weekend itself and the following week when are heading on up to the cottage in Pickering to relax. I'm soooo excited!

I'm hoping to pop in to see you again just before we head off for the pre-wedding evening festivities on Thursday, if I can. If not, I'll see you next Sunday.

HOORAY...the shawl is FABULOUS, Ros! It's really wonderful... I love the all-over almost wave-like feel to the pattern. Splendid color. I have such an a affinity for the same hues of blues and purple-y blues you often knit with--that sock yarn is scrumptious. Oh, but have a FAB week making ready for the big family day. Wishing all happiness to the bride & groom on their day. Much love to you all. Can't wait to hear all about it! :o) ((HUGS))

The stole is beautiful... the colour of a bright blue sky on a special Spring day, which is exactly what you shall have for the upcoming wedding.
Best wishes to the new bride and groom...
Enjoy!

Just gorgeous, well done. After all that hard work I'd just want to knit plain socks for ever. Hope the festivities are going well and time in North Yorkshire is good.
