BIRTHDAY GOODNESS......

Wimbledon, English strawberries, a day trip and a birthday. Yep, it's been a great week! Yesterday Josiekitten came a calling yesterday, with a fantastic birthday parcel.Would you like to see what was inside? I'm sure you would. Yum, yum, yum! Just look at these little beauties.

There were three skeins of gorgeous 'primo' in colourways 'flannel', 'ballpoint' and 'blueberry sour'. Together they make up the 'NOBODY GETS OUT OF THIS PLACE WITHOUT SINGIN' THE BLUES' 'Color Affection' kit. I've admired this gorgeeous pattern for a while now and it was top of my birthday list! I was also gifted the pattern. I'm such a lucky girl! I can't wait to get started on this one, but it just has to wait for two weeks. Then school will be over and six whole weeks of freedom will lay before me. I'll cast on the Friday evening that we finish. Something to look forward to.

Hold on though, don't go yet. I have more to show you! Also in my bag of goodies was a really cute 'Herdy' sheep mug. Isn't it cute! Sure to bring a smile to my face each morning.

The other little gift was a really useful little gadget for keeping DPNs together in a project bag. You can't see them very well in the above photo, as it is still all newly new in its little packet, but look down below and you'll see what a clever little gadget it is, to be sure. Thank you, my dear pal!

As you can see, I managed to spend a little time knitting yesterday afternoon  and make a progress on the 'Surf Blue Waffle Creams'.

I'm really enjoying knitting this pattern It's an easy knit and the yarn is gorgeous, although I realise it is going to need to very, very gentle handwashing. I'm hoping to finish these by next weekend and then move forward again with 'Almost Ovals'.

Of course, as always, time has slipped away this week. On Tuesday we took the Year 3 children to Africa Alive, near Lowestoft in Suffolk. We have been learning about Africa, Kenya, and African animal habitats, so it seemed the perfect place for our end of year daytrip. The children (and adults) loved it!

All in all it's been a great week and it's not quite over yet. This afternoon will see me settle down to hopefully watch Andy Murray lift the Men's Singles title at Wimbledon. COME ON ANDY. YOU CAN DO IT!

Have a good weeek eeveryonne!

What a lovely friend that JK is, she's been good to me too. She's presented you with some gorgeous yarn and those little dp holders, fantastic. So get settled in the action is about to start and luckily we have enough tellys for me to watch the Tour and Mr FF the tennis, no doubt we'll both be flicking between. Happy birthday.

Happy Birthday Ros! Lovely pressies. And I love the animal pictures. We have not had a trip this term due to the move and general stress! I can't wait for the 20th! Though we have to work on the Monday-but no kids!

Hi, Ros! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, belated! :o9 LOVELY, scrumptious yarn goodies as gifts...mm... VERY fun to see the animals of Africa. Oh, it was rather sad to see that Andy Murray lost yesterday. I'm a huge tennis fan! Although, must say I was sad earlier when Rafael Nadal lost near the semi-finals...*sniff*... ;o) Wishing you a wonderful birthday year! ((HUGS))

Well I'm sorry to know that Andy didn't quite pull through, what an emotional day!! My mum was sure happy though, as she adores Federer (so does my son).

Lovely yarn and projects on the go. Happy Belated Birthday!!
