BABY BATMAN....

So, I have completed the button bands and neckband on this cute little merino and silk sweater, because I couldn't bear to leave it any longer. At last it's official, my eldest daughter is expecting a baby in January 2014!!! Grandchild number 3! We have no idea whether it will be a boy or girl, but I have gone with the premise that I have made lots of girly pink sweaters for little Sophie and Jess, which I have no doubt will be passed on, so I've decided to go with some different colour choices.

This is such a sweet patter. I just love the little pockets and the simple rolled edges.

I've also started a sweater, using up some stashed sale yarn from ages ago. It sat hidden at the bottom of my 'baby yarn box'. It's Rowan milk cotton DK in a lovely petrol blue.

The sweater is from Erika Knight's book, 'Natural Nursery Knits'. Again, it has my favoured rolled cuffs and neckband. I'm picturing two simple wooden buttons to finish it off. It should be an easy and relaxing knit to keep me going this week, now that my reports are all done and dusted!

I'll leave you with a close-up of the gorgeous English country garden Sweet Williams, that have graced our kitchen table this week.  I just love them!

Congratulations, Ros!!! Boy or girl, I hope you can knit also 'boyish' colours! I'm strange but I would like those patterns for myself, I think I'll make simple pullover like the last one, just with rolled edges, loose and comfortable. Have a great week! x Teje
