HAPPY DAYS!

Hello there! This needs to be quick post, as the Wimbledon Men's Final has not long started and being a Muray fan, I don't want to miss too many shots! It's been just the most lovely birthday weekend. A July birthday has always, as far back as I can remember, meant Wimbledon and strawberries. Nowadays, strawberries are available for much of the year, from somewhere or another, but as a child the best local produce was only available for a two or three week stretch each year..... Wimbledon fortnight. They are a very common crop here in Norfolk and the local ones are by far the best. My childhood birthdays always seemed to be baked in sunshine too! Just like this year has been. We've had a fabulous few days.

I received a Birthday visit from Josiekitten this morning and decided to make some hidden strawberry cupcakes. Yes, they have a strawberry hidden inside, as well as one popped on top! Delish! They weren't quite ready when it was time to leave, but a couple were swiftly bagged to take away; minus the buttercream, as that didn't appear until Mr Snoops made a request!

We made do with some freshly made fruit scones instead.

She came laden with birthday gifts and I was thoroughly spoilt.

Ooohhh, exciting!

Wow!

First up was a beautiful 'Three Bags Full' sweater bag. It's such a pretty fabric.

Next were three beautiful skeins....

From the top, is a skein of Tough Sock, from ' The Uncommon Thread', in colourway Leaded (80% superwash Blue Faced Leicester 20% nylon), then some SokkusuX from Whimzy ( formerly Soctopus) in colourway Poseidon ( 70% superwash merino, 20% cashmere 10% nylon) and lastly merino silk sport from 'Skein' in colour way Blue Wren ( 50% merino and 50% silk). Absolutely beautiful skeins!

Finally, look what else there was! Two Lo-Lo Bars. Hooray!!! They smell divine.

So, all in all it's been a fabulous weekend....... sunshine and birthday curry on Friday, sunshine, knitting and tennis yesterday and today.......... well,  sunshine, Murray, cakes and a visit from one of my favourite people. What more could a girl want!

I'll leave with a floral finale; beautiful roses from our garden I'm so sorry that I can't share their beautiful scent with you!

Then birthday flowers........

So pretty!

Fingers crossed for a sun-filled week! Enjoy!

I hope you had a lovely birthday! My birthday is in June, and what you said about summer birthdays had me nodding in agreement. I would not like to have a winter birthday! You got some lovely pressies, and the munchies look delicious.
