Well just take a look at this little beauty! It's been in hiding since a school snow day last year.
It was January 18th 2013 and I sat snuggly by the fire and enjoyed the impromptu excitement of both snow and an unexpected day at home. It was the perfect day to start a warm, woolly infinity scarf. Sadly, it lay untouched for the rest of the year, hiding in the corner awaiting the return of my 'scarf mojo'. Well, it's back! Resurrected on January 18th 2014! This little beauty is flying along and will soon be out and about around my cold winter neck.
It's Anne Hanson's 'Monkey Bread', using the gorgeous 70% mink, 30% cashmere mix from http://www.minkyarn.com. It is the softest, warmest and scrummiest yarn EVER!
It's actually a much deeper purply wine colour than the photos show. The picture below gives a much truer indication of the colour.
I used a provisional cast-on as it's an infinity scarf this time. I have previously made a blue long scarf version which keeps out the coldest of cold winter weather beautifully.
Slightly annoyed (er, that's an understatement!) last night to discover that I had made an error in the cabling and to frog about six inches of my labour!!! Still better that it's correct and taking a little longer, than completed but with an error, even if I'm the only one to notice...... it would still be there!
Maybe I'll be ready to show you next weekend. I also have yarn ready to begin a ripple blanket for Evie, but as always time in the evenings gets gobbled up by mountains of schoolwork.

Just the weather to be wearing that, its perishing here, so I hope you get it finished soon. I love a big cable cowl, makes me want to start another, which would be a bad idea. Have a good week.
You will love this cowl, it is my most worn accessory I think! Just make sure you don't leave it anywhere where Flo might find it or she will assume it's hers!! Have a good week! xx
What a lovely colour. No snow, just rain poo.
Love the colour and that cable pattern is just brilliant. Looks so soft too. Looking forward to seeing the finished piece. Anna
Love that vibrant colour Ros.
And if it has mink in the yarn it certainly will be warm!
Here you'd need Polar bear fur in the yarn with a -30C windchill forecast for today.
Have a wonderful week.
Susan x
You can see how soft that scarf is so it should be lovcely to wear. Not too much Winter left so you'd better get a move on !!
I remember this scarf! Lovely colour and cable pattern.
Keep warm!
Hi Ros! What a beautiful deep purple colour and I love the pattern - I have always enjoyed Cables! Hope you finish it soon to have that warm scarf in use! Have a great week! x Teje
LOVE, love, love that plum yarn, Ros... *SWOON*... The cable pattern reminds me of gentle waves and the beach... *sigh*... summer seems far off, doesn't it?! We're in a deep freezer here too--such snow! Happy Days... and keep warm :o) ((HUGS))
What a beautiful color! We can see just how soft the yarn is!
Love ya lots♥

Oh, I know what you mean about knowing the mistake would be there. I HAVE TO fix the errors, too.
It has been warm here--no rain, no snow, no ice--but I am wearing my warm vest today. As much as I love knitting wool, I just don't wear it.
ooooh it's gorgeous!!
What a lovely colour! Plum looks delicious in the drab dreary winters :)
P. S, That snow picture is beautiful
