WHO'S COMING ON HOLIDAY!

The Easter holidays got off to a grey start with a trip to see the musical 'CATS' at the theatre. We took our three children to see the show in London in 1992, when Elaine Paige and Brian Blessed were starring. It not lost any of its sparkle and magic. It's a brilliant show!

We are setting off for a week in North Yorkshire tomorrow morning, followed by a few days in Manchester, catching up! I'm still debating what knitting projects should accompany me. This is always a dilemma, as I always want to take way to many. Not only do they take up vital car space, but there is no chance of more than one or two small ones reaching completion. It still doesn't deter my inner desperate need to take 'this one' and 'this one', oh, and 'this one' just in case and maybe
'this one' in case I fancy a change. It's quite exhausting battling with my inner self and do you know who wins? Well lets just say that I'm now seeking out a bigger bag to put all my chosen project bags and notions bag into!

This little project is a definite. I've used this pattern before and it makes a really cute little hat. You can see the picture of the hat properly on the top picture. It only takes one ball of 4ply yarn and knits up quickly too. I like the fact that the border is is included in the knit and not added at the end. I'm using a ball of Debbie Bliss 'eco-baby'.

These socks have also secured their place in the lucky holiday bag. The gorgeous 'Hazel Knits Artisan Sock' yarn and the Anne Hanson 'Movie Night Sock' pattern were a gift from Josiekitten not this Christmas just gone, but the one before.... 2012!!! They have been on the needles since December 25th 2012. I think deserve to be finished!

As to what else will make it in, well these newly purchased beauties are definitely coming. The Debbie Bliss is to make a second hat , using the above pattern and the rich, deep pink Rowan is to make another little roll-edged sweater for Evie.

Will I need more? The answer is NO, NO, NO! Will I take more? The answer is 'YES! YES! YES!'
Well let's see what I can make over the next two weeks: READY, SET GO!!!!!!

Best part of getting ready for a trip for me is selecting the knitting to pack. Did you know that there is a knit cafe in Pickering, I spotted it on my last visit.

I am on a road trip and did I take too many knitting projects? YES YES YES! Two pairs of socks and a hat. IF I finish these three projects, I can always buy more yarn, right?
