SOCKS ROCK!!!!

Just feast your eyes on these little lovelies. Aren't they just the happiest skeins! I managed to snaffle these two last week at Trailing Clouds online.  The left-hand skein is Nimbus Sock Yarn in 'primary-secondary colours', whilst the other is Blue Faced Leicester sock yarn in 'Mind the Gap' (colours of the London Underground lines). I've been away from colours like these for a little too long.

No sooner had the postie made his delivery, than I espied a 'London Gap Sock KAL' over in the Three Bags Full group. Oh 'thank you, thank you, thank! Just the motivation I needed to cast on..... socks, get going and stick with them........ monogamously!!!! I'm done with little people knitting for a short while; well at least until these little beauties are done and dusted.

The pattern is very well written and explained, as well as being easy to memorise and clever in its simplicity. By moving the starting point of each new colour and never working purl stitches in two colours, the colour bands come out perfectly. Very satisfying! Thank you Kim!

So, yarn wound, Kim Swingle's new 'London Gap'  pattern bought, cast-on complete, clever four row pattern memorised and a lovely sunny afternoon at the beach. Just the ticket to get a few more rounds of colour completed.....

........ whilst Oscar gets his breath back and dries off after his swim!

Such a lovely place to chill, knit and butterfly spot!

Right, let's fire a few more rounds of colour off those smokin' needles!

You know Ros I do a lot of basic knitting but I have never mastered socks. Those beautiful bright colours are so tempting I might want to give them a try again.
That handsome Oscar looks like he loves swimming.
Have a great week..

These are indeed the happiest skeins, I love them! Especially the "Mind The Gap" one, what a great idea for colours. Good luck with your socks.

As soon as I saw Mind the Gap I knew what it was for - been years since I've been in London but that took me right back!
Love the pattern.
Butterflies already?! We've got lots of bees, but no butterflies yet...
Happy knitting!
