LONDON WEEKEND....

Better late than never, as they say! We were in London , staying with our younger daughter, over the weekend. It was really lovely to escape the continual headspace scrambling caused by excessive workload on the 'expecting OFSTED' front. My evenings seem to be constantly filled with work and if I do squeeze in a little relaxing knitting or crochet, the guilt is the re murmuring away to me that I really should be doing this or that.

However, there was no decision to be made on Saturday morning, the laptop was NOT coming with me, but the needles definitely were. The aim of the visit was primarily for Mr Snoops to give her garden a good once over before the growing season eventually kicks in. So, gardening tools loaded, Oscar and his bed and toys loaded and a newly chosen ( from stash, so a Brownie point earned!) yarn all ready to cast on a pair of mindless Dave socks and we were off.

I had a really relaxing time and whilst the intermittent rain showers fell and the wind blew, Mr Snoops gardened and I concentrated on my sticks and yarn. What a beauty it's turning out to be! The yarn has been in my stash for a good long while. It's Regia Monaco Colour in colourway 1839. Regis is a hard wearing sock yarn which is also quite comfortable to knit with and washes well. I have to say I'm LOVING the gorgeous of the bright against the dark. These are going to be a good pair of socks, with lovely memories of Mother's Day spent enjoying life!

Such lovely flowers and a box of my favourite After Eight mints accompanied a FaceTime catch up with my other two children and the grandchildren, before we set off for a Sunday morning along the stroll along the South Bank, with the sun accompanying us! It was really lovely to stroll and chat, stopping off for coffee and cakes and the obligatory browse in the lovely Foyles bookshop. Lazy, reading, slow! Just perfect! Later, we rendezvoused for pizza, before heading back to Norfolk. It was just what I needed.

That sounds like a wonderful week-end. Of course, we love London so any weekend there for us would be lovely :)
The sock colours are gorgeous!
And After Eights are one of my favourites as well - over here they are very much associated with Christmas time.
