SPRING GREENS........

This week has flown by! I have no idea where the days go! However, there has been plenty of action on the needles you'll be glad to hear. I'm afraid I'm in full 'baby knitting' mode at the moment, but don't worry, I'm sure it will soon pass. 'Spring Greens' was completed early in the week, but seaming avoidance tactics kicked into play and I managed to leave it in a neat little pile until yesterday. It seemed much more important to cast on yet another; same pattern, same yarn, different colour!

I'm just loving the cute little buttons, which match just perfectly and were a snip at 5p each in a local store.

I just love this soft grey and have three skeins sitting waiting to be used for a while now. I think there'll be a little beanie hat made to match; maybe with some 'spring greens' stripes.

I thought I'd show you another view, showing off my gorgeous 'Three Bags Full' bag. This has to be one of my favourites, with it's 'must have' spotty lining.

We took a wander down through the city centre park in search of a Sunday morning coffee this morning; dodging the showers as we went. I've been taken by these lovelies for a week or so now, loving the gorgeous blend of soft colours and interesting variety of petal shapes. They are growing up against a tree trunk and black railings, at one of the entrances to the park. Just lovely!

SPRING KNITS......

Hooray! Knit, knit, knit.... some knitting has been undertaken! I just love this pattern and have made it several times now. It's simple and just 'works' on all levels. It's Erika Knight's 'sweater' from her book 'Natural Nursery Knits'. I've used some Rowan wool cotton DK.  I just love the simple roll neck, bottom and cuffs detail and the sweet little two-button opening.

I've had these little wooden buttons for ages. They suit perfectly!

It's been a beautiful day here in our little eastern corner of England and after a morning at the lake, walking Oscar, I settled down for an afternoon of knitting in the garden.

Here's an easy baby cardigan on it's way for little Evie. It's made all in one, with the front, neck and sleeve borders worked at the end. Again, I've made this several times and it works; probably because I like the simplicity of the design, with it's cute little three-quarter sleeves.

It's another Erika Knight pattern from the book shown above. I've used Rowan wool cotton once more, as it knits up beautifully and is suitable for baby garments. The fabric works up very quickly, providing a lovely thickness. No doubt this easy garter stitch cardi will be complete within the week. A little bit of mindless garter stitch is great for a school day evening!

The garden always looks so fresh and new at this time of the year and there is always a surprise!

Wisteria just has to be one of my all time favourites.

Wishing you a wonderful 'end of April' week!

LOVE MY FAMILY!

Well, I spent my Mother's Day morning in the garden, seaming and finishing off this cute little silk and merino sweater for Evie. With a little bit of extra knitting time as we travelled up to the coast for the day yesterday, I could se the end was in sight. Thanks Mr Snoops for taking the driving seat so as I could knit..... as usual. Love you! This has to be one of my favourite patterns, both for its simplicity and the 'cool' look that the roll sleeves and neck give to the design. It just works!

I've had these little painted wood buttons in my stash for sometime and they just finish the whole thing off beautifully! Hmm, just spotted one of Oscar's hairs!!!

Here's the back view. Such an easy but satisfying knit! Love it!

It's been a lovely weekend here in Norfolk, with sun, blue skies and warmth, although not all at the same time. That would be asking for a little too much! We ventured up to our favourite beach spot at Holkham yesterday, to let Oscar blow a few cobwebs away on the beach. He loves the freedom of miles and miles of sand and sea.

He spent this morning relaxing in the garden, collecting sticks, flowerpots and anything else that took his fancy. You an see his collection on the path. Love him to bits!

Whilst I spent the morning relaxing and enjoying flowers and phone calls from my lovely children. The above vase full arrived from my son and daughter in Manchester and those below from youngest daughter, who is working in Singapore for six months. Love them all so much!

Must dash now! Pub, beer, friends and quiz to get to! Have a good week!
