LAZY WEEKEND EQUALS KNITTING!

Hello there! I've had a really lazy weekend, sitting in the garden, pottering about the house and knitting like a woman possessed. Bliss!

Thought I'd just show you a quick view of one part of the garden. Can you see the collection of logs and branches? They're Oscar's! He drags them out of the borders and then, seems to like to pile them all in one place, RIGHT in the middle of the lawn. I know.... he's just being a tidy dog!

The 'pots' are all doing well. I do love the intense splash of colour that you get from these plants. We don't go overboard on our garden. In fact we do little more than keep it tidy, so bright colourful pots are a 'must'. Mr Snoopydog does enjoy vegetable growing though and has a well stocked allotment.

He's been there all afternoon and has just returned, bearing rhubarb and Swiss chard for our dinner this evening. Delicious!

I've had a little more time to knit this week, thank goodness! I get very crotchety without a daily fix of either a little knitting or crocheting. I've managed to finish the socks begun  a couple of weeks ago for my eldest daughter...

I love the stripes and the pattern is brilliant for a mindless, 'no-fuss' knit. Just what is required on a school night! Look at the colour match too!!!! Perfect, even though I say so myself.

I rustled up this little cardigan for Sophie over the weekend. I had the necessary two and a half balls of Rowan Milk Cotton in my stash and the pattern is from the Erika Knight book, 'Simple Knits for Cherished Babies'.

It's such an easy garter stitch pattern; knitted in one piece too, so not to much of the 'dreaded' sewing up. Finished in a weekend and used up some stash. Double bonus points there then!

Last week at this time, I espied Josiekitten's  little crocheted bag squares. I commented on her post, that I had got the very same little bag requirements ready to go. Great minds definitely do think alike! The yarn was on very, very special offer at Kemps . I think it was a mere 49p a ball. I got the tail end of the offer, so had very little colour choice.

It's quite pretty, I think. The yarn is Anchor 'Magicline' (spotty). I bought five balls of this colourway and five of yellow. Just great for little bags or cushion covers.

I bought some yarn in the John Lewis sale at Christms to make a little cabled, hooded coat for baby Sophie. However, the more I look at the yarn, the more I know it's no longer the right colour. So it will become baby 'other things'. I'm much happier with my new colourway; a really delicate lilac.

The yarn is Debbie Bliss 'Baby Cashmerino' and the pattern is Debbie Bliss's 'Cabled Coat with Hood'. I plan to knit the 6 to 9 month size, ready for Christmas! Sorry, didn't mean to mention that word. Can't wait to get started now.

Mr Snoopydog called in at our favourite organic, locally reared meat supplier on Friday and brought home a large marrow bone for Oscar. I'll just leave you with theses shot of him with the, now two day old, chewed for many hours, marrow bone.

Now, doesn't that look yummy!!! No? Oh, alright then. Only joking. It does look pretty disgusting, unless you are Oscar, who thought all his Christmasses had come at once. He braved wind and rain and even pigeons, who were getting a little too close for comfort,  this weekend, in order to rack up a mammoth fourteen hours (at least) of bone chewing.

Have a good week everyone!

Your bag is looking good - hope you have enough yarn, as I have had to break into a 6th ball. (I bought an extra one just in case!) The socks are a perfect match too! Hope to finally meet Oscar in a couple of weeks when I head down with a squishy parcel or two! xx

I think Oscar has piled the sticks at the ready just in case he tires of chewing that bone...Little chance of that though right?
I adore the sweater for Sophie and the socks are perfectly Summerlike.
Can't wait to see the darling hooded number in the beautiful, peaceful lilac shade.
And the rhubarb... funny how the gardens are yielding the same bounty though we are on opposite sides of the Pond.
I made a batch of Rhubarb marmalade with mine yesterday.
Have a great week.

Love the little cardi for Sophie. Oscar would like Forest School-there are logs and branches there that he could drag around! Have a good week-only five more then you can knit all week!

Perhaps Oscar thinks you should have a campfire in the middle of your lawn?

I love rhubarb and I have finally been able to get some growing here at my house. I'm always careful not to mix my Swiss Chard in with it because I'm afraid I'll get them mixed up.
Beautiful garden you have.
