ADDICTED TO......................

I had a quick count up this afternoon, of all the pairs of socks that I've made since beginning to knit again, in April 2008. Do you know how many pairs I've made? Well, I've completed 36 pairs (that does include the three pairs that I am currently working on). Had they have all been for myself, I would have more than enough pairs to see me through more than a month, before needing to do any sock washing :-). Here they are, in order, going all the way back to the first pair I made.Although I'm sure I have more than enough pairs, I do still have a very sizeable stash of delicious sock yarn, so I'm certainly not going to stop the 'sock factory' just yet. I must admit, I probably prefer sock knitting to any other! I like the fact that they are so portable and once you have 'Kitchenered' the last stitch, that's it! You have a sock! Just a couple of ends to sew in and then pop them on your feet.

Sock knitting has been slow, as has every other kind of knitting, this week. School is slowly monopolising my evenings at the moment. I have begun the little Aran cardi for Sophie, that I bought yarn for at half-term. I struggled to find a pattern that I liked and that I had sufficient yarn for. In the end, I plumped for this little bolero design by Debbie Bliss.

The yarn is Rico's 'creative poems' aran and is pure wool. It does need hand washing though, which is not ideal for a baby garment. The colours are beautiful though and it is made n one piece, so not too much of the dreaded 'sewing up' either.

I've spotted a sharp, colour-change line that I don't like. I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention last night! You can see where I mean, over by the circular needle. In fact the flex is circling the exact spot!!!! So you know what this evening's job is going to be. It's such a quick and easy pattern, I'm sure it will be finished and ready to show next weekend.

Oscar's had his two hydrotherapy sessions this week and is now up to 8 mins in the pool each time. He absolutely adores it!

Right, I now need to sort out some school bits for tomorrow, sort out the mess in the kitchen and sort out my knitting!!! Have a great week.

You are such a prolific sock maker! I know I have said it before, but I wish I could knit socks.
I love the little cardi and that picture in the pattern book is so sweet. Oscar looks like he is having a lot of fun in the pool!
I hope you find some time in between school stuff to make more socks!

Love your collection of socks! I might just have to do the same thing and scare myself with how many pairs I've made. Mind you, it's probably a lot more scary looking at how much yarn I've got to make new pairs! The colours in that bolero are beautiful. Hope Oscar continues to improve. xxx

Inspirational, there are some yarns there that I need to buy and you tackle much more complicated patterns too. Beautiful work, you must be very proud of yourself. Wonderful that Oscar is so happy with his treatment, you'll never keep him out of water now. Have a great week at work and with your current lovely knitting projects.

Fabulous socks! I recognized some patterns and even one of the yarns - I have the same blue opal used on one of my pairs.

Glad Oscar is enjoying the hydro therapy, hope it is working well for him.

There are worse things to be addicted to than sock knitting!
I'm a packaging designer for a sock company when I'm not knitting so I've seen lots of socks and your socks are great.

WOW--loved seeing Oscar doing his hydro-therapy--very impressive! So glad it helps him, and probably very fun to him too. Also seriously impressive is all the socks you've been knitting--fun to see so many here! I love that photo on the left column showing socks as well as doggie paws. ;o) The new jacket for Sophie is wonderful--and such great wool! Happy Days, Ros ((HUGS))
