A RETROSPECTIVE ......

Thought I'd have a little retrospective this evening! A little look back over the last year. I dug out some photos of all the completed projects from 2010. There was definitely a better range of projects last year. In other words, not so many socks! Last year also saw an obvious increase in the number of baby items made. I wonder why that was? ;-)  The very large, crocheted blanket for little Sophie, took up a large amount of my knitting time at the beginning of the year and the end of the year was a mad rush to complete one or two Christmas gifts. All in all, not a bad haul really.

There's not been a great deal of knitting going on over the Christmas period. A houseful, definitely limits 'needles' time! We had a lovely family time though. Now I need to think about making a concerted effort, to finish all the unfinished items that are lurking in bags, all in various stages of unfinishedness. I am now on the second sleeve of the aran coat for my youngest daughter, so my immediate aim is to complete the coat before next weekend. You never know, there may be a grand 'showing' next Sunday! I also have two pairs of socks to finish. This one just needs a partner...

...but this pair has rather a long way to go!

Then there's the crocheted cushion cover....

... and the 'Granny in the Middle' blanket...

Oh, and there's the little coat I started for Sophie.....

and the poor, lonely 'cat mitten' ......

and the 'Swallowtail Shawl' that I was so keen to get going on.....

...and not forgetting, of course, my long-term project, the 'Sock Yarn Blankie'....

Hmmm! Think this little lot might take a year to complete, never mind any new projects.  Lets just say, that I need to keep in mind that these projects do need to be finished. That's not to say that some new, exciting yarn may just have to jump onto the needles along the way. Lets hope it's yarn from my 'stash'! That's another story for another time methinks. I guess I'll focus on the socks, the cushion cover and the little jacket and then the two blankets can just jolly along with me; gorgeous to look at and squish and maybe they'll even get a few extra squares added, on the way. Who knows! Best not to be too rigid with New Year intentions............. SMILE!

See you all next week!

All your knits from last year look fab! I've been ruthless with some of my unfinished knits I'm afraid, and they have been frogged! But I am trying to be stricter with the number of projects I tackle at any one time. We shall see if I get lead astray! xx

You have made lots of lovely things this year. Love the teddy bear and bird, I don't think I saw those before. Unfinished projects are the price you pay for being a creative person-they are like the washing-always there. I think the lure of the new manifests itself in making things just as much as buying things! Have a good Monday and hope the week back at school zooms by!

You have made so many gorgeous things! It reminded me of one little cardigan which I need to finish which is sitting in one of my knittings bags. I adore that teddy too, might have to knit one of him up for a baby gift I think! Your new projects look lovely too!

What a lot of FOs! And I love the photo of Oscar with his chin on the socks.

I vote for finishing the cat mittens first - they're gorgeous.

Hi Ros, Happy New Year to you!

I love love love that crocheted blanket for Sophie and who doesn't adore a knitted bunny? You were most productive last year.

I have not added much to my sock yarn mitered square blanket lately. I loved seeing yours!

ThAre all so lovely :) :) With much difficulty, I decided the Teddy bear and the crocheted cushion cover are my favourite. Then again, the rainbow socks and the lil 'sweate' for the flower pot and the blanket and the lil sweater for ophie... Oh! it is difficult!!

Happy new Year!

I love all your FOs and wish you luck with the WIPs. I also have a year's worth of FOs lying around that desperately need finishing, including my own TTL KAL socks... I've just turned the heel on my first, however, so I have a bit more than you to go.
