YARNY GOODNESS!

Yes, I know, I'm off to 'Knit Nation' next Friday, so why is there a photo of new yarn, I hear you all ask. Well, the simple answer is, I just couldn't resist it! Both skeins are 'Posh' and are the softest and most scrumdelicious skeins of yarn that I have ever held, I think. They definitely come high up on the list of  'alltime greats'. The top yarn is Posh Sylvia, a 4ply 50% merino, 50% silk mix and the bottom skein is Posh Daisy; a 2ply 80% merino , 20% bamboo mix. Sylvia will probably become a pair of Anne Hansion's 'Lacunae' socks and the Daisy? Well, maybe Anne Hanson's 'Almost Ovals' or one of her shawls. I seem to be on an Anne Hanson pattern addiction streak at present. They are such well written and beautifully designed patterns and Anne always suggests such a gorgeous seleaction of yarns to choose from for each one.

In fact, the 'Fishbone Gansey Socks' that I began last Sunday, to take to 'Knit Nation' as my 'knit and natter'  project are also by Anne Hanson. I love the pattern as emphasised by the fact that they are already halfway to completion.

Looks like I may need to start another pair to take with me!!!!! Do you see those large rain spots on the garden table? Hmmmm, I had to beat a hasty retreat indoors just after taking the photo this afternoon. It's since rained solidly, leaving Snoops a rather unhappy bunny. I HATE being indoors in the summertime.

A very lovely parcel arrived from Kyrie who lives in Frederick, Maryland in the U.S.A. This was the second swap organised by the Knitspot 'Fall in Full Colour Club' group, over on Ravelry. I think it has to be one of the friendliest and liveliest groups I've come across.

The gorgeous yarn is Breathless, by Shalimar Yarns. It's a lovely, soft and squishy merino, silk and cashmere mix. I also received, amongst lots of other lovely things, some highlighter tape. It seems to be the top knitting notion, according to many U.S knitters. I've tried it out this weekend and it really does make chart reading SO much easier. Thanks Kyrie! You were a great swap partner.

Next Friday evening...........................' Knit Nation'!!!!!! Josiekitten and I will be aboard a London-bound train. This time next week, we will have just finished our whole day class with Cookie A., learning how to design our own sock patterns. We will be heading for a taxi, to take us back to the railway station, laden no doubt, with some squishy goodness and our heads buzzing with the excitement and enjoyment of the weekend. I can't wait!

I have to leave you with this photo of Oscar. He looks very uncomfortable, but was doggedly determined to stay on the sofa, regardless. NO, he's not allowed, but he tries his luck, by jumping up, laying down and closing his eyes as quickly as possible. He's hoping we won't notice, I guess!

Have a great week!

Lovely yarn, completely pointless to even attempt to resist!

Have a fantastic time at Knit Nation, looking forward to seeing the squishy goodness you bring back with you.

Lovely sounding yarn and the swap package looks fun. I love the shot of Oscar too. Animals are so funny when they want something they are not allowed. Tiger has a habit of leaping on the computer table for attention when I am busy and sits across the mouse, my hand and usually the keyboard. I quite often try to make her stay near the edge of the table but she can't stand it and starts to very slowly creep back to where she was like I won't notice if she goes that slow!
Have a good week-I bet it will fly by in anticipation of Knit Nation!

Good for Oscar! Inca used to spend all her snoozing time on our sofas, but when we got new ones in April, she never got on them again. I don't think she liked the new smell at first. I miss her head on my knee!
Have a great time at Knit Nation .... I'm sure you'll be tempted to splash the cash!!!!
The holidays are getting closer .... only 10 days left!!!
