HALFWAY HOUSE!

It's been SUCH a busy week!!!! But..... I've reached halfway with my Miss Doolittle. Like Longshadows, the scarf is made in two pieces and grafted. In order to maximise the yarn length and maintain the colour patterning, I've held the first half on a stitch holder, but not broken the yarn. The second half has been cast on, drawing the yarn from the centre of the cake. So far, so good! If I'm lucky, there'll be enough left for at least one more pattern repeat on each half. I do like my scarves LONG!

Oh, I almost forgot! Last week I promised to show you some new yarn that is particularly lovely. Well, here it is...

..... Essence from the 'Woolen Rabbit', in colourway 'Forever in Blue Jeans'. Josiekitten bought me some for my birthday to knit Anne's 'Henley with a Twist' . It just has to be my most favourite yarn ever for jumpers and cardis. This time, I intended to knit Anne Hanson's 'Sprossling', but as I sit somewhere in the middle of a 33" and 38" for a cardi, I'm not so sure I'll get a good fit. Although I could go down a needle size, I guess. However, the Henley  fit so well and I love it so much I might just have to make another! As I spend much of my time in blue jeans, it seems quite appropriate.

That's all for now. We're sweltering here in the east, with temperatures of around 27degrees, so I'm off to make the most of it out in the garden.

I love the colour of that blue jeans yarn. It is hot here too-nice but I am hoping it cools down a bit for school tomorrow!

The scarf looks so good already, can't wait to see it finished. And that yarn is scrumptious, the colour is just amazing.

Your scarf is looking lovely, I really do like the colours, and it's not something I think I would normally pick! Love the blue yarn, it looks very squishy.

The new blue yarn reminds me of Malabrigo yarn in the shine and twist.

Can't believe the heat wave you are having over there!

Hi Ros! I'm also big fan of jeans and blue colours! Your new yarn is just beautiful and would be perfect for a 'jean' sweater!
The scarf is becoming so lovely - also my favourite colours from nature!
Have a great week!

Well at least you're having a last bit of warm weather before the cold sets in. It's been terribly windy here so feeling cool though the actual temperature is around 24.
Guess we'll have the heat and humidity soon.
cheers
Helen

Oh, so much loving the Forever in Blue Jeans yarn... WOW! That is one of the more lovely denim yarn shades! Would love a taste of the summery weather you are having there in the UK. Here it's dull & wet again... Good knitting weather, though. ;o) LOL... Happy Days, Ros ((HUGS))

You do use some gorgeous yarns and lovely colours too. My knitting and crochet were put on hold over the weekend, it was far too hot to be holding wool.
