CHRISTMAS IS COMING......

........ it's coming way too fast for my liking! There is always so much to do and so little time to do it in. I have made a start on my shopping this weekend and have placed a fair few on-line orders. Let's hope they all arrive in time. The Advent calendar is up and running and I thought you might like to take a  look at the  little penguins, modelling their Innocent smoothie hats!!! How cute are they!

Life at school seems to be racing out of control and is best pushed to the back of the filing cabinet in my head. The last two weeks of term are always manic, but this year we are very late beginning our rehearsals for the Christmas concert. Each Year group has a Christmas song and a reading to perfect .... aaarrgghhh!

This is our offering. It's my 'most favouritest' of favourites :-). I just love it! We' need to get a move on this week though. Then there are the angel, donkey and Mary head dresses to make, party food to get organised etc. etc. etc. Roll on Friday 16th, when at least Christmas at school is over (I love it really!) and then I can focus on Christmas at chez Snoops.

We popped across to a local garden centre yesterday, to pick up a small potted tree. We won't decorate until next weekend, but at least it's ready. We have a much larger artificial tree in our sitting room, but the little fellow always sits on a table in the window at the front of the house. The garden centre is always awash with over-the-top Christmas razzamatazz. A glitzy wonderland, but fun just to pass through.

Another week of limited knitting time has passed by, but I knew I needed to get Sophie's little hoodie finished. I always hate the sewing up and finishing of the garment, but have been much more satisfied with my efforts sice dicovering mattress stitch. It gives a lovely, neat finish.

My Snoops keeps hinting that he would like a new dog-walking hat for Christmas. Hmm thinks Snoops, the very time he would like something made and he leaves it until NOW!!! I'm thinking that I may frog the October 'Knitspot Club' scarf that has been left idele and make the hat instead. At least once the hat is made, I'll be able to use the remainder of the yarn all up on the scarf. Why didn't I think of this before staring the scarf? I know why..... a severe case of 'cast-on-itis'! I've not got very far so it won't matter too much.

I think the lovely yarn will suit Mr Snoops' head rather well. He won't wear a scarf, so that will be a gift for someone else. I think I may be a little optimistic about finishing both of these projects before Christmas though.

Watch this space! Have a good week!

Good luck with the performance .... school is just mad isn't it!
We've got our dress rehearsal in front of the rest of the school tomorrow, and then we're doing it for the parents in church on Wednesday. Then we might actually be able to get some work done! We don't finish until the 20th!
You'll have to get a wriggle on with the knitting needles to get that hat finished!!!

Sophie's little hoodie is lovely and that wool looks like it would make a nice hat too. Pity about the scarf but you have to sieze on these requests when they are made, don't you?

I have great faith you'll finish the hat... after all haven't you been one of Santa's elves all these years.(at least that's what the kids thought that Mom's had a special line to Santa to fulfill all the Christmas wishes.)
Have a great week.

The little hoodie is gorgeous, Sophie will look so cute in it. I miss all the school concerts now that my kids have left infant school, I can only imagine all the effort it takes to put these shows on. I love the advent calendar. Does Oscar have one? Archie's got his own doggy one which has doggy chocolate in it.

Oh, what fun, Ros...And hope all went well with the performance! The hoodie is fantastic--what a great finish! I do like the minty and raspberry color way to the stripes on this one. And such warm, rich color on the hat for your Mr Snoops--beautiful. Best for getting it all done, and having fun with all the lead up to Christmas ((HUGS))

Glad I am not the only one who gets a bit petrified at the speed Christmas arrives :-) I love making things by hand but it does add a little pressure doesn't it - mind you I hate buying from hight street shops now too so I am making a bit more this year eeek. x

Lovely stuff. Always a last minute crafting rush for Christmas but you seem to be making good progress - compared to me. Have a productive week.
