WINTER BLUES

This beautiful skein of hand-dyed yarn from Knitspot arrived at the Snoopydog residence this week. It is a wonderful mix of 60% merino and 40% hand-dyed. I need also to mention that it is handspun. I'm not sure how many Knitspot club members there are, but there are at least two hundred. I can't even begin to imagine how long it took Cheryl, from 'New Hue Handspuns' to spin up that amount of yarn, but she did! The colour is true to the photo, a real wintery ic-blue and white mix with a hint of green. This is the last yarn and the last pattern will be released on Tuesday. There was also a lovely pot of 'Woolen Rabbit'  handcream. I've almost come to the end of my present pot, so it was a very welcome gift!

Knitting has taken a backseat this week as preparations for the weddding have 'hotted up'. Most of the important bookings have already been made, but we now needed to be finalising menus etc. Plenty of phone calls between ouselves and Miss Snoops have taken place, and at last decsions have been made. Invitations have been sent and the younger Miss Snoops has the 'Hen do' under control.  I have managed to find an outfit that I like too, with minimum fuss and bother. I'm not a great one for dressing up these days. I'm much happier in my jeans! So, things are progressing nicely.

I've decided on the patern for Sophie's little bolero, but haven't managed to get started on it yet. It will made without the hearts! It's from the Rowan cotton knits book.

My 'Monkey Bread' scarf is so nearly finished. Had I not gone out for a coffee this morning, I may well have completed the last repeat. Never mind, you'll see it next time, I'm sure.

Have a good week!

Love your blog! Yarn colours are so beautiful. Amazing how we gravitate towards some colours. I can often just sit and watch the yarn and do not have to do anything with it for months. I am the same when it comes to beautiful material. I would buy small pieces just to keep and feel it at times! Please visit my blog: marl on the move. Would love to see you there!
