DOUGIE........

Well hello my friends. I am so pleased to actually manage to be here today. Relaxation time has been exceptionally sparse this week and knitting time reduced to zero, until last night, when I managed to make some progress on Sohie's little hat. Here we are, six cute Dougie dogs! Bear in mind that the colourwork panel has not been steamed yet, so isn't really looking it's best. I have been careful to make sure that I have carried the stranding loosely enough across the back, so that when I do steam, it will lie nicely flat.

Such sweet little dogs, don't you think?  At present, they are minus their little brown tails and noses. I have to say though, that I am not a great fan of intarsia knitting. I definitely do not find it relaxing, as I seem to be constantly lost in a battlefield of twisted yarn and ends. But, the finished effect is always worth the effort.

I guess the double thickness created by the stranding will, at least, keep little Sophie's ears nice and toasty. Hopefully the hat will be completed this week and then I will make on the start on the matching scarf.

Here's the matching Dougie Dog sweater that I finished a few weeks ago.

That is just the sweetest little set. Sophie has to be the best dressed grand-daughter in her neighbourhood.
Have a great week.

Aww your doggies have come out lovely :) I'm always a bit scared of intarsia because of the strands left behind - knowing my luck they'd either be too tight and make the knitting pucker, or be too loose and get caught!
I look forward to seeing the rest of the hat :)

I am sure Sophie(and Mum) will love this.

Oh my goodness, the little dogs are gorgeous! I agree that intarsia is always a bit tricky. It's all the different yarns that insist on getting tangled. But the back looks great! Good luck with the rest of it. :)

That's brilliant. Il ike the effect of the back of that kind of knitting too. I bet Sophie will love it. I hope you get some more time this week. Unlikely I know but here's hoping!

Oh wow Ros, it looks fantastic. I'm with you on the intarsia knitting too, it's far too tedious for my liking. I'm finishing something off at the moment with intarsia and I can't wait. This looks brilliant!

Those little Dougie dogs are TOO CUTE, Ros! Intarsia spooks me too, and something I've not done a lot of...I should try to get over that fear... ;o) It's just yarn! LOL... It's been busy on this end too, as I restock my Etsy shop, which I will be closing for good at year's end. We're all still redecorating at home too. And somehow Christmas is on the horizon soon too... Happy Days ((HUGS))
