GOT TO HAVE A LITTLE SPLASH OF COLOUR IN YOUR LIFE!

After the muted subtle tones of the Gabriolas featured in my last post,  I've moved on to something a little more zingy. Love, love, love these bright happy colours. They make my heart sing!

The pattern is Roxy Socks, again by Kim Swingle. I think this was her first pattern and is a super easy knit. We are in Manchester for the weekend, visiting our grandkids and this colour splash has made a perfect travelling companion.

The blue-faced Leicester yarn is another hand-dyed, self-striping Nimbus sock yarn from Trailing Clouds. It's 75% wool and 25% nylon, which should make for great hard-wearing socks. It's also super wash wool and so can be machine washed at 30 degrees. I usually give the superwash socks at least a couple of hand washes before allowing them anywhere near the excitement of a soapy tumble in the washing machine; just to be on the safe side!

A gorgeous splash of colour is always a great spirit lifter and as the long, relaxing days of summer are quickly disappearing and the first day of the new school year looms, I need that little splash!

Here's just one more....... just because! ENJOY!

I agree we need some cheerful colours in our life. That yarn would make lovely handwarmers as well.

Hope you're enjoying the change of season Ros. I know that handsome Oscar probably is.

Love the colours, that's the kind of yarn that makes me think "I'll just do one more row to see how the colour changes..."

I thought this was another Mind The Gap type yarn at first! Looks more like a rainbow though, hope you find a pot of gold at the end!
