Mr Snoopydog and I have spent the weekend visiting our son, daughter-in-law, baby Sophie and Scott AND our eldest daughter and her boyfriend. Our younger daughter flew out to Serbia today. She works with the UN, on the 'Human Rights-based Approach to Water' and is on 'mission' there for a week.
It's my birthday tomorrow (I won't be telling you which one!!!) and Mr S planned the visit as a secret. We've had a lovely time, walking the dogs, chatting, catching up, relaxing and giving Sophie lots of cuddles, of course! She has changed so much since she was born nearly six weeks ago; so much more aware and beginning to smile.
We gave Oscar and Scott a runaround here.....
It's beautiful and only 5 minutes away!
I know this is supposed to be a knitting blog, but sometimes life takes priority.
I 've switched back and forth between projects this week; never settling on one to get 'stuck into', so nothing finished. I'll show you some progress pics though.....
............... this is my basket ready for the five hour car journey!
No progress this week on the little orangey crocheted bag. I had to order an extra ball of yarn and have somehow lost the mojo, whilst waiting.
A few rows completed on the Manos del Uruguay 'silk blend' sweater. I'm not a great fan of large knitted projects (except blankets, of course!).
The beginnings of the 'Swallowtail' I mentioned last week. I'll say no more on this one, except to tell you that I had to begin FIVE times, because I made errors. Methinks the project might take a very long time!
This one was an impulse buy in Didsbury yesterday. I completed the back and two fronts on the journey home, before running out of steam!
I think I'd like to show what was inside the prettily wrapped parcels........
.......Some lovely Cath Kidston, from my daughter and her boyfriend.
............... and a really beautiful, framed, Limited Edition print of the percussion quartet, '4-Mality', of which my son is a member. That's him, top left! Such great presents. I felt very spoilt!
Hopefully, there will be one or two finished projects to show you next time. Have a good week everyone!

Happy Birthday!! What a lovely time you have had :)
Glad you had a lovely time. Sophie is gorgeous! She really reminds me of Miss Snoopydog2 in the first photo of her asleep! I think your turquoise impulse buy is rather lovely - I wouldn't have been able to resist it either! I shall have to make sure that I pay attention when I start my Swallowtail after your experiences! Happy Birthday. See you next weekend with a squishy parcel! xx

Happy Birthday my dear and it matters not how old one is just how much wisdom they've gained over the years...
The gifts are lovely and the knitting divine.
As for those two scamps I'm sure they enjoyed the visit as much as you did.
Have a great week.
