COLOUR FIX

Good afternoon! Another busy week has whizzed by. I have no idea where the time has gone to, but it's certainly going way too fast for my liking at present. I have not had too much knitting time agin this week, but have spent time this weekend finishing off my 'Wildflower Socks'. I just love the pretty yarn from Jenny Cook. The pattern is such an easy knit, but suits the yarn really well. I like the sl, k1 heel too. It gives a nice snuggly, comfortable feel.

There has been very little progress on anything else, but I have  made a small yarn purchase. Sophie is too young for Easter eggs, so instead I plan to knit her a little Easter cardigan and hat to match. They will go nicely with the little bunny I have already bought. I hadn't planned to buy this particular yarn, but just happened to spot in whilst passing through John Lewis this morning. Only a minor detour was necessary to ensure a visit to the yarn department ;-).
The yarn is 'Smiley Stripes' DK by Sirdar. It's an 80% bamboo and 20% wool mix. At £4 per 50g ball, it's not cheap, but the clourways are so pretty. I'm not sure which pattern I will be using yet.

I really ought to finish the little 'Spring Cardi' first. I'd made an error during the week and haven't got around to unpicking and knitting back up again. I'm not a great fan of 'going backwards' in order to 'go forwards'! Maybe that will be my task this evening, once my schoolwork is done.

I picked up a little bargain in the 'Body Shop' whilst out on my shopping mission this morning. I really needed birthday cards and a couple of pressies, but oh how my eyes wander.

It's just the perfect size for a sock project, with a pretty green lining and small interior pocket. Just the job at half price! I do like a small bargain once in a while.

Right, must dash. I have supper to cook, maths to plan and a rather long list of other 'need to do's' awaiting me. I'll just leave you this little blast of colour. We have been working with a small chamber orchestra at school this week. It's involved all manner of writing, art work and music appreciation around 'Romeo and Juliet' (Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev) and Bernstein's 'West Side Story'. The children made ball masks to wear at the concert on Friday afternoon, in a 'proper' concert hall. They were a pretty rushed job, made just before lunch on Friday and after swimming all morning!  It's definitely 'all go' at school at present.

Have a good week everyone and thank you all so much for stopping by. It's always lovely to see that you've called in!

Nice purchases. I do like a pretty toilet or make up bag for my sock knitting. I tell myself its quite glamorous, its certainly a tidy way to carry your work around. I'm quite a fan of bamboo yarn so I'm looking forward to seeing how the cardy turns out - no pressure. Have a good week.

Love the colours for the new cardi. And a new sweater is much better than a silly chocolate egg.
That art work is so vibrant... they appear to be masks?

Your socks are gorgeous, I do think that yarn is lovely. I know I've admired it before! The rainbow yarn is fab, I shall look forward to seeing it knitted up.

And what a great idea to use a makeup bag for sock knitting!

I love music in school. The boy's school had a string quartet in on Friday, wonderful.

Great colours in the yarn for the cardi - quite Easter!

Another pair of socks! Canh't believe how many you have knitted. I'm eagerly waiting to hear which buttons you decide on for Sophie's pretty jacket. She is a lucky little girl to have all these pretty jackets, the new yarn is lovely.
Cheers
