HELLO MR BLUE SKY!

THANK GOODNESS! At long last we have had some sunshine. It's been a really lovely day here in the UK; well, in our little corner it has anyway. I've spent most of the day outside in the garden, relaxing after a very busy week. So has Oscar....

This time of year is always pretty hectic in school, with reports being finalised, assessment data needing to be collated and trips and outings organised prepared for. Year 3 (my year group) took a coach trip to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford. We've visited before and the children love it! It was a special WW2 day and the children all dressed up as evacuees. It supports this term's class project, about life as an evacuee. We made gas mask boxes the day before.....

As we arrive, the heaven's opened and delivered one almighty hail shower. Luckily the showers were short lived and didn't spoil our day.

Knitting has taken a back seat in the evenings, as I have fought to get on top of paperwork. I managed to finish one 'Lilac Pool' sock this morning and cast on its twin. The yarn is from Juno Fibre Arts, one of my favourite U.K. dyers.

Progress on the 'Lila Ludmilla Pompa' has been slow.........................................

.......... yep, that's one sat upon, squashed and broken, Knit Pro, size 3.25mm needle! The most surprising thing about this seemingly trivial incident, was the fact that amongst my rather (maybe replace with 'extremely')
large needle collection, I didn't appear to have another pair of 3.25s. A little trip to John Lewis yesterday managed to correct the situation, so that knitting could continue. Suffice it to say, Pony metal needles DO NOT satisfy my needley desire or give me the same tactile pleasure as my Knit Pros. Yes, a new pair are on their way:-) So, I 'metal clicked' away for a little while this afternoon, to produce maybe another inch or two.

Do you like the cute project bag? It's from Three Bags Full,  in Brooklin, ME. Michelle's bags are just gorgeous. Look at the cute little owl bead on the zip pull. I love it!

Well, that's about all for this evening, as I still have a pile of 'stuff' to do before tomorrow, as well as catch a bit of the Glaston bury Festival on TV. Oh, must show you something else just before I go. I now know that I am truly loved, adored and respected by at least one little lad in my class. On Friday, he offered me a very special gift.................. a half-eaten 'fried egg' cake. That's right, a fried egg cake.... half-eaten! 'I saved you the fried egg, 'cos I had the best day out ever, at Duxford, yesterday!' Awwwww!

Have great week!

Your sock is lovely, the stripes work really well with the pattern, and the owl bag is fab.

I'm feeling your pain re the Knitpros, I've sat on two pairs! You're right that metal needles are definately not the same.

And I really don't know what to make of the fried egg bun!!

(Apologies if two similar posts appear from me, this is No.2, No.1 mysteriously disappeared!)

Aah that's sweet! One of my kids told me I was a man teacher on Friday! Thanks Victor I thought, but then Jayden made me feel better by saying 'no she's not, she's a girl!'
I know what you mean about work-so much and so little energy. Aah well, four weeks to go!
Thanks for visiting my tea party too! Have a good week!

Thank goodness you finally got blue skies, sort of like us here this summer. But, rains on the way again tomorrow. So heading back out for another few rays. Great socks.

Well, we've got four weeks left ... I haven't finished my reports, I've got all the paperwork and assessments to complete, and I'm moving in to Year Four! Why do we do it to ourselves? I'm not going to let myself get stressed though!!!! We had lovely blue skies here today too, so we went out for the day!
Have a lovely week!

All this talk of reports and paperwork reminds me why I'm sooooooo glad to be retired. Kids in the UK don't know how lucky they are with all the great places to take them on excursions.
Love your socks - lovely pattern and they look soft.
Cheers
Helen

Lovely stuff as usually, I especially like those socks. I agree knitting without Knitpros is hardly worth it, I sat on one of mine and snapped it too but luckily the dps come in a set of 6.
